Statistical Study on Patients with back pain by Waddell Disability Index

Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between physical impairment and disability by Waddell Index.

Methods: Among the outpatients with back pain who visited to department of oriental rehabilitation medicine, Jaseng oriental medicine hospital from March 2001 to June 2001, we selected 30 patients. We estimated each score before treatment and after by Waddell¡¯s questionaries.

Results: The cases that both impairment and disability score increased are 43.33% of the patients. The cases that both impairment and disability score fixeded are 23.33% of the patients.

Conclusions: These results suggest that the evaluation of impairment and disability by Waddell Index may be significantly play a role in the relationship between its evaluative value, could be confirmed to determine about subjective improvement of patients and objective evaluative of physician at the same time.
